On January 24, 2023, Apple released the newest addition to its MacBook Pro lineup, the MacBook Pro 16-inch, 2023 which featured its in-house chips; Apple M2 Pro or M2 Max.
Like every latest MacBook or device from Apple, the MacBook Pro 16-inch 2023 with M2 Pro or M2 Max is the most powerful, super-efficient and expensive Macbook yet.
The MacBook Pro 16-inch 2023 with the M2 Max chip is a powerful laptop that’s tailor-made for creative professionals. However, with its steep asking price, it may not be suited for everyday users. That said, it’s a fantastic workstation laptop with a bright and colour-accurate display, superb performance levels, and phenomenal battery life.
Both the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips offer incredible power and long-lasting battery life, making them some of the best laptops on the market. They also feature best-in-class speakers and gorgeous Mini-LED screens. However, they come with a high price tag, so you’ll need to be willing to pay for their top-of-the-line features.
If you’re looking for a powerful machine that can handle intermediate video editing and other creator-centric workloads, the M2 Pro MacBook Pro should suffice. It also offers better battery life on both the 14-inch and 16-inch models.
The MacBook Pro 16-inch with M2 Pro or M2 Max CPU is a media creation and gaming powerhouse that marries a proven and immaculate design with fierce power. It even lasted nearly 27 hours on a battery test, which is impressive.
Compared to most Windows laptops, the MacBook Pro 16-inch is far ahead in areas like screen quality, audio, touchpad size, and build. It also eliminates many of the compromises that Windows workstations demand, such as battery life, efficiency, noise, and heat. If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on one of these 16-inch MacBooks, you just won’t have to worry about any of those issues anymore.
The M2 Pro MacBook Pro is a successful follow-up to the M1 Pro model, making it worth upgrading from an Intel-based MacBook Pro. Even M1 Pro MacBook Pro owners may be tempted to invest in the HDMI 2.1, Wi-fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3 upgrades.
Although this year’s MacBook Pro refresh may not be a necessary upgrade for most, it’s still an absolute triumph for creatives. It offers a modest performance boost with the M2 Pro, while a maxed-out M2 Max with 96GB unified memory takes things to another level, which will be appealing to a niche of high-level users. The MacBook Pro 16-inch is untouchable in terms of performance, thanks to Apple’s silicon and architecture. It’s perfect for professionals.
If you already have the last-generation MacBook Pro 16, you may not feel the need to upgrade unless you need every little speed increase you can get.
However, if you haven’t yet jumped on the Apple Silicon bandwagon and don’t rely on any applications that only run on Intel processors, it’s probably smart to consider the upgrade this time around.
